How do I work out what to talk about on my show each week?
// The short answer
Keep a running list of the real questions people ask you, and turn each one into an episode. Plan each episode as a working title plus your own take on it, recorded as a quick voice note. AI can help you shape it, but the opinion has to come from you.
Bank the real questions
Every time someone asks you a great question, write it down somewhere. On calls, in your DMs, in the comments. One good question is one episode.
People don’t always ask the question they actually need answering, so part of your job is writing the questions they would ask if they’d thought of them.
AI-generated questions are fine as a fallback when you’re stuck. But AI hasn’t lived a human life, so its questions tend to feel slightly off.
An episode is a title plus your take
Once you’ve got a question, planning the episode is quick. Give it a working title, then work out what you actually believe about it. What would you say if a friend asked you across the kitchen table?
I record that as a voice note and get it transcribed. It’s the most important step in the whole process, so don’t hand it to AI.
Link it back to the show
Every episode should connect to what your show is about, the same way every episode of a podcast relates back to its concept. If an idea doesn’t fit, save it for somewhere else.
