What should I call my show?
// The short answer
Something clear that says exactly what the show is. Work out who it’s for and what it’s about first, then name it. A clear name beats a clever one, and you can always rebrand later.
Name it last
So many people want to name the show before they’ve worked out what it is. Get the substance first, then give it style.
You want to know who it’s for, what it’s about and what gap it fills. The name comes after all of that.
Give it a Ronseal name
If naming is holding you up, and it really can, give it a Ronseal name to start with. One that does exactly what it says on the tin.
Clear is better than clever, because people know what they’re getting. A clever name can leave people a little confused. And if you confuse people, you lose people.
You can always rebrand
Rebranding later is completely fine. It’s actually a brilliant excuse to make a load of noise. Just don’t do it every week, or you’ve got a consistency problem.
I’ve done it myself. My show had more than one name before it became The Solopreneur Show.
