What if nobody turns up to my live?
// The short answer
Go live anyway. Most people will watch the replay, and you’re building a back catalogue for everyone who hasn’t found you yet. A small or empty first live is completely normal.
It really doesn’t matter
Your first one might get three people. Maybe one. Maybe nobody turns up at all. Doesn’t matter. You’re doing it for the replay crew, and for your future listeners and watchers.
Game of Thrones
When I’ve asked a room how many people watched the very first episode of Game of Thrones live, sat at home with the popcorn, only a handful of hands went up. Loads of people watched it. They just watched it later, once everyone started talking about it.
To the replay crew: go you
I say this on my own show and I mean it every time. I love that you’re here. For most people, watching later is simply how they watch.
What actually makes it grow
Turning up at the same time every week, whoever’s there. My first community started with a few people after three days of posts. They came back, and they brought friends.
